30-Word Movie Review: Buddha Collapsed Out of Shame

May 3, 2009

Captivating and haunting. Buda as sharm foru rikht by 18 year old director Hana Makhmalbaf is an absolute, cinematographic, risky, no-nonsense gem. A welcome relief to those movies dictating what we should feel!

I dont think this movie was intended as a literal description of Afghan children life but one that through the acts and utterances of the children, the struggles of post-conflict construction, ongoing civil war and education for women is personified. It was very lyrical and poetic in that sense.

actually,i got to your site while i was reading ur insensitive comments on someone else’s sblog. just to get back at u. ur website is shit, so u should get a new one. no foreign investment in this country = the same illiteracy rates and the stupid hinduteva movement getting more support. i am indian and i dont plan to come back ever again, unless its an emergency, because even after having emergency surgery i have to fight to be allowed to leave this country. why because india sucks because of indians with ur mentality live in it!

You know the whole India sucks, drivers are axes of evil, illiteracy and bla bla bla – it’s a bit pase don’t you think. Good for you that you hate India that much. There are plenty that do love it.
